We are new Kia owners. If we leave the dog in the vehicle (only briefly!) and set the security system, if she moves around the car alarm will go off.

Is there a way to disable that portion of the alarm system but leave the other sensors, doors etc., set?

You need to turn off the rear occupant alert.

Or, if you want to leave the rear occupant alert on, you’d have to snooze it on a case-by-case basis when the pop-up to check rear seats shows up in your cluster when you turn off the car.

Remote start the car when you leave the dog so it will have air conditioning and the alarms won't go off. It's a safety feature to prevent you from forgetting a pet or child in the back seat of a locked hot or cold car.
