My wife and I have been in line for a 2022 SX December. We were at the front of the line just got a call that there is a 2023 coming in next month that we can claim. They are saying it’s just an extra $1,000 because of the entertainment system, which is now an option. (I don’t want it but they “can’t” take it out). Anyone know if anything else changed?

I don't really have a solution, but the 2022 SXP I ordered got changed to a 2023. It was reordered without discussing with possible changes in options that I may want to make. As soon as I was notified I went to the dealer to check what they had ordered and they had ordered it with the VIP seating, basically took all orders of 2022 SXP and just matched them with 2023. I had them change the 2nd row to a "bench" which moved me to back of the line because they had to put in a new order. Luckily its a small volume dealer so I don't anticipate it being too long (+/- 6 months) until my order is picked up by Kia. I think you will be getting the digital gauge cluster and new Carnival badge, but outside of that I am not aware of any changed

That’s what I have been able to find as well digital cluster (big plus for me personally) and the badge, which doesn’t matter to me. Would have loved to save the $1,000 and dropped the screens out, but I went from an unknown wait time to being “supposedly” 1 month out from pickup. So that and the cluster is really worth the difference.

Really wanted the astra blue but panthera black was our second option and that’s what they have.

Thanks. Ya red and black were the 2 colors We didn’t like. Did like the red, and the black just looks dirty to easily with the car tires and rims all being black.
Same thoughts about ceramic. Catches my eye every time and pops nicely, but I think it would fade very fast.
Agreed on the colors! I am dead set on Astra Blue with Tuscan Umber interior. All others are meh! for me.

That was definitely our favorite, just with the black/gray interior. But the panthera metal was our second favorite, and available in a month. Lol who knows how long it will be before an astra blue comes in. After 7 months I was ready to move forwards. Lol

2023s seem to be coming a lot more readily to local dealers. However I noticed for SXP just about all of them coming in are with the Lounge seats….wonder how long the wait time is for sxp with the standard bench….

My guess is it’s pretty long. Most of the 2023 Vans were 2022 shells that were built but didn’t have any chips. Not they are just going to make a tweak here or there, throw chips in, and call it a 2023. But the lounge chairs aren’t a simple switch, so my guess is it takes a while for those to start rolling in. But again that’s a total guess on my part.

That’s crazy!! Are you getting a 2022 or 2023?
2023. I had them send me the order details just to make sure the year, specs, etc we’re all correct and they are. Yeah it’s crazy, I was super downed when I got interested in the carnival about a month ago and read the forum, but I guess I got lucky or started shopping for one at the right time! Haha

I’m really interested to see if people on here get their carnival in these fast timelines. This seems to be a USA thing.

have any fellow Canadians heard anything on their existing orders? Placed or received an order recently?

I think it depends on the trim as well. LX and LX-Seat Packages have less wait times followed by EX. SX and SX-P seems have have longer wait times due to the parts shortage.

I guess I'm a little confused. The 2022 SX came with the rear seat entertainment screens as standard. There shouldn't be any price adder for you to get the same feature in the 2023 unless the MSRP changed this year.

seems the 2023 SX now has the 12.3” driver screen standard just like the SX Prestige has. So perhaps that’s how they justified keeping the price the same swapping these two features?

My guess is that these are 2022 shells that had the couple adjustment made, got the new carnival letter on the back and are getting shipped as 2023. The dealership said these weren’t even supposed to be SX trims coming in until like 3 days ago. They just switched all the sudden.
Also I doubt it’s actually here in 1 month
