Hi! Just completed a four thousand mile roadtrip in our EX, and I have a few quick observations:

Most annoying/concerning:
- WINDSHIELD WIPER SPEEDS!!!! We went through some pretty insane torrential rainstorms and the 'Hi' wiper speed feels like the Medium on our old Odyssey. My wife and I are still pretty blown away at how slow the Hi speed is on the wipers. Borderline unsafe when a lovely East Coast summer storm suddenly appears.
- Road noise. I know this has been mentioned a fair amount. I found that while driving, and having even the slightest crosswind, it sounds like either my window is slightly cracked or the middle (driver's side) window is cracked. It's super annoying, but wasn't noticed and/or problematic for anyone else in the car.
- Nav System. Seriously frustrating actually finding addresses. Additionally, the voice command for finding addresses simply does not work 99% of the time. The interface is pretty horrible but my Wife and I could not get the voice command to actually find what we were looking for. So annoying as this is the only way to add/change a destination while in Drive.

Mildly annoying/concerning:
- False alarms. Every so often, I would get an alert that I was close to something with the front parking alert- while driving and nowhere near the car in front of me.
- Rear camera. More than a handful of times, the rear camera would STAY ON after shifting into Drive. There's always a bit of a lag when shifting into Drive, but wow- there were times when it just stayed on. Would have to stop, put the car in Park, then back into Drive.
- Lane assist notification. This is hardly even an issue, and I'm sure there's a way to turn off the chime- but I hate how it mutes only the front speakers to sound the alarm. It's a pretty sensitive system, and makes it irritating when listening to podcasts and missing parts of sentences. Also- I could just stay perfectly in the middle of my lane :)

Aside from the above- we LOVED the way it drove in all conditions we encountered. Smooth, powerful, and stable. No regrets whatsoever. Also- from Massachusetts to Florida and back- we did not see another Carnival on the road. Kind of cool, actually.

One last thing- We discovered the remote start doesn't work on either of our FOBs. Guessing this is disabled somewhere in our setup so I'll poke around and see if I can find a solve.

If I can remember anything else, I will post in this thread. Feel free to ask any questions or help me with the above!

Thanks for your review! For some reason, it seems to be just the EX model that has reported wind noise issues. I don't think I've seen even the LX owners complaining about it.

As for the wiper speed, if this is your first Kia, then you may not be aware of the true HIGH setting. Pull the right lever down one click to engage the low speed. Rotate the knob on the lever to increase from intermittent to high. But if it's really coming down, just pull the lever down one more time to engage the fastest wiper speed. If you didn't do this, then that would likely explain your experience.

For the nav system, is there any reason why you didn't simply use your smartphone? I find that most onboard nav systems can't compare to the power of Google maps.

And finally, if the camera stays on when driving, you could either manually turn it off by simply pressing the camera button next to the seat warmers, or you could check your settings. There is an option to have the rear camera stay on longer even when you shift to drive and that might have been enabled.

Enjoy your ride!

Thanks for the help above. Definitely felt silly about the remote starter 'non-issue'. Hitting lock before start is all it takes. Just different than any of my other cars with remote start.

On to the wipers. I am not entirely following the guidance @UN-Limited
I can't for the life of me figure out what you're referring to when you say "rotate the knob on the lever to increase from intermittent to high". I assume you're referring to the sliding lever that adjusts the intermittent speed- but that has no effect when I have the wiper lever in Low or High. I am confused, but optimistic that there's a faster wiper speed than what I am experiencing with High currently...

It sounds like you got it. The lever has 2 positions. The first is intermittent, with multiple speeds that can be adjusted by rotating the little nub that protrudes from the lever. And then the second position of the lever is your true high. That should be fast enough without tearing up the wiper blades.

I had to drive home in torrential rains when I first took delivery of the Carnival and never felt the speed was too low. I've owned 2 other Kias, a Jeep, Chevy, and a Buick for comparison.
