Anyone opted for ambient lighting on their Carnival? Thinking of getting it installed. Would love to see pics to see if it's worth it.
Unless they ordered directly from the factory, I doubt you'll see many people with optional items installed this early in the release cycle. I just want to replace the interior map lights with LEDs, but the instructions in the manual seem to imply that I already have led map lights. 🤷🏾♂️Anyone opted for ambient lighting on their Carnival? I guess you're right. I was wondering if someone was able to score one that came with ambient lighting. I asked around for install cost and it runs from $600-$800 for the OEM Interior Light Kit + install. I didn't want to spend the money if it doesn't look very good or noticeable as I've seen some videos of the Telluride with ambient lighting and it looks okay, wasn't impressed.Unless they ordered directly from the factory, I doubt you'll see many people with optional items installed this early in the release cycle. Go to AutoZone and buy some LED light strips for 20 bucks, tape them to the bottom side of your dash, and you got the next best thing! LOLI guess you're right. What trim did you purchase? Was this dealer installed? Our Carnival had the optional interior light kit included. It is nothing like the Telluride LED lighting kit if I remember right. The Carnival light kit just has an installed button which illuminates the foot area in the front seats with 16 different colors to choose from whereas the Telluride kit illuminates along the dash and armrests and has more colors, is brighter, and is integrated into the user interface.

Here is a picture of the location of the interior lighting button. I'm not a fan of Kia's execution for this feature.Where is the button located? Could you take a picture?
We purchased the SX Prestige and the interior lights were either dealer or factory installed. I'm not sure how that works but the interior lights were an add-on and on the window sticker. What trim did you purchase? Was this dealer installed?
Can you take a pic of when it's on? I'm thinking of getting one installed by the dealer. I got the SX trim.We purchased the SX Prestige and the interior lights were either dealer or factory installed. I'm not sure how that works but the interior lights were an add-on and on the window sticker.
Yeah, I was curious what the actual light looked like anyway but I had forgotten about it. I’ll crawl in there, take a look, and post some pics as soon as I get a chance. Can you take a pic of when it's on? I'm thinking of getting one installed by the dealer. I got the SX trim.
Thank you! Would like to know if it goes all the way around and in the cup holders or just the glove box area.Yeah, I was curious what the actual light looked like anyway but I had forgotten about it. I’ll crawl in there, take a look, and post some pics as soon as I get a chance.
Nope just the foot area for the front seats. I think this would be a good feature to go aftermarket with. The lighting in the Telluride is cool and it's integrated into and accessed through the infotainment screen. These lights are turned on by holding the power button for 2 seconds. Each push of the button afterwards scrolls through the 16 colors. A long push of 5 seconds takes you to the first color (red). So for $450 you get only 2 LED's and the power button. It was a let down for me personally. If these vehicles weren't in high demand I would consider negotiating the cost of this feature.Thank you! Oh wow. Yeah I would be disappointed if I paid $600+ for this. I would think it would be in the infotainment though. Did you check there as well? I'm glad I didn't decide to get it installed then.Nope just the foot area for the front seats. I think this would be a good feature to go aftermarket with. You are right to be disappointed by this. It looks like an afterthought - especially when there are BLANK buttons next to the heated seat controls!!!! They could've used that instead of this poorly positioned button. Here is a picture of the location of the interior lighting button. I'm not a fan of Kia's execution for this feature.

I wonder though if it would be the same if installed after instead of factory installed? Would they integrate it into the infotainment system? Hmmm...still disappointing. So the lights are not on the doors either? You are right to be disappointed by this. It looks like an afterthought - especially when there are BLANK buttons next to the heated seat controls!!!! Nope, just the two LEDs at the feet. Nothing in the doors, nothing in the cup holders, nothing in the second row.I wonder though if it would be the same if installed after instead of factory installed? Ok thank you again and congrats on your new car!Nope, just the two LEDs at the feet. Nothing in the doors, nothing in the cup holders, nothing in the second row.
Hopefully people will see this and decide against adding this option to their orders.
Wouldn’t recommend. I opted to have it installed by the dealership. Cost $700 including parts and installation and it only lights up the front floors. Thought it was going to include the rear and cup holders also like the Telluride. Should have read closer.Anyone opted for ambient lighting on their Carnival? Thinking of getting it installed.
