I wanted to post some pictures as to what the screen looks like using Android Auto. As I recently gathered that with Apple car play you get the entire screen. I'm hoping someone will be able to post what Google maps looks like with Apple car play, etc. for interested buyers.

AA feels crippled after coming from using the widescreen CP version. There are people hoping Kia will release an update to fix this. Sorry I don't have a picture but it does look cleaner. Not sure why the right window isn't used for something even if not AA.

It is, as long as you have split screen enabled for AA (setup > device connections > phone projection/Android Auto). Then you can show the Kia map, weather, radio, compass, clock, etc there.

If you want to use Android Auto, you’ll need to plug in on the EX and above. It doesn’t work any other way.

Of course, you can connect your phone via Bluetooth for phone and streaming audio functionality, but you’re not going to get the Android Auto interface.
