Where do I order the OEM light kit? And was it plug in play? Thanks.
Google 2022 Kia Carnival trailer wiring harness. You will get several hits and dealers to order factory wiring. Yes plug and play. Under the cover you remove to mount the hitch on the drivers side is the vehicle wiring harness with a dead end plug with a removable cap. You remove the plug cap and plug in the OEM Kia wiring harness. That’s it. The rest is just zip tying the wire leed containing the 4 wire plug to the trailer hitch middle. OEM hitch has a mount for the 4 wire plug to mount on. The Kurt hitch does not have this mount. I just zip tied the 4 wire plug on the outside edge of the left safety chain mount.

Any pictures from a littler further away? Some the pictures in the thread make it look like it hangs down really low. It would be nice to have it as hidden as possible.

Does anyone have a 7 point wiring harness installed? Is there a natural spot to attach it to? In the past I installed a Curt hitch on our Sedona (very easy install as is being described above), but the wiring receptacle had to hang below the receiver and scraped the ground when entering certain steep driveways. I'd like to avoid this on our Carnival.

I forgot to post these before I left on vacation.

This is super helpful. Thank you so much WitchCity!

We're eyeing an Astra Blue SX that coming in about a week and it has the factory tow hitch installed. I'm not particularly keen on it (though conceded it may become useful once the kids are old enough to ride bikes), but due to supply issues, and the fact that I've been following the progress of this car since last September, I'm ready to just buy the darn thing and live with the hitch.

These photos really help give a sense of its size and positioning.

Would be great to have Carnival owners contact Torklift to create an Ecohitch for the Carnival (Torklift Central | EcoHitch - Rear Mounted Receiver Hitches - Trailer Hitches). The Ecohitch is an awesome hitch where the cross-member/tube is hidden behind the bumper and the only portion of the hitch that is exposed under the car is the receiver. I have this hitch for my Subaru Outback and I absolutely love it, unfortunately it hasn't been made for the Carnival, which is in dire need of it due to clearance issues. The BIG down-side to the tow hitches that are currently available (Curt and Draw Tite) for the Carnival is that the cross-member/tube is 1) visible and unsightly and 2) puts even more limitation the rear departure angle. Ideally, if Torklift created a Stealth version of the Ecohitch for the Carnival it would be awesome, that way when you're not needing the hitch you can remove the just the receiver portion of the hitch.

If anyone is in the Kent, WA area Torklift may even offer to give you a discounted/free hitch if you can offer your car as their test model.

The more interest Torklift receives from Carnival owners the more likely they will produce one for market! Let's get the word out!

Yup, I have the OEM hitch and it sucks. So low to the ground. My Ford Flex had a beautifully integrated one that was hidden behind the bumper and I have no idea why Kia couldn’t do that with the Carnival.

The hitch is no problem for the Can'n LX...BUT the wiring harness IS !...no Plug'n play...had to have it " Hard Wired" and still does not work with a young Rockwood Freedom tent trailer; have to revisit the installer !! NOT a fan of Kia for this skimping on the easy wiring system !!

Assuming this is because you needed trailer braking / a 7-wire system instead of the 4-wire it comes with? Yes, I agree that's a shortcoming, especially when the similar Telluride comes with 7-wire.
