Have owned since May but haven't ever seen any updates- still have the non-widescreen AA, light-bulb radio icons, etc. Any word from Kia on when updates are coming?
It was out on October 25. But if you didn’t snag it in the first three or four days, you missed it before it got pulled because some people with similar systems were having issues initializing the installer in the car.Have owned since May but haven't ever seen any updates- still have the non-widescreen AA, light-bulb radio icons, etc. Any word from Kia on when updates are coming?
Updates come out twice a year -- once in the Spring (April/May) and once in the Fall (Oct/Nov).Have owned since May but haven't ever seen any updates- still have the non-widescreen AA, light-bulb radio icons, etc. Any word from Kia on when updates are coming?
I was able to get this done by re-doing the whole process. Now I have Android Auto full screen, however, Google Maps is only in the main part and Spotify takes up the right side. Is there a way to change it?I tried installing this but for some reason, it is failing. I am not able to see the error message. Once I saw something like a corrupted package and another time it went through the update but it rebooted with the same update prompt.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?
What you’re seeing is what Android Auto looks like on wide screens. One main app and a secondary app.I was able to get this done by re-doing the whole process. Thanks for the explanation and screenshots. I will wait for Coolwalk. What you’re seeing is what Android Auto looks like on wide screens. One main app and a secondary app. View attachment 1036
If you are truly desperate to have a single app stretch the use the entire screen, you can go into AA developer settings and limit resolution to 1280 px wide to force the old interface: View attachment 1037
But do note that Coolwalk is rolling out in beta, so it should be available to everyone soon. It has the same multi widget display for widescreens: View attachment 1038
For any screens, actually: View attachment 1039
But it will let you use maps in full screen if you want, no reduced resolution required. View attachment 1040
So it’s a little bit more dynamic and gives you a little more flexibility.
Dang, that looks pretty sweet, wish CarPlay would do that. What you’re seeing is what Android Auto looks like on wide screens. One main app and a secondary app. View attachment 1036

CarPlay can be similar-ish if you’re using the dashboard view. Then you’ll get your last-used maps app on the left and your now playing on the right. You may also get calendar widget info if applicable, or just some quick shortcuts for your maps app.Dang, that looks pretty sweet, wish CarPlay would do that.
Thanks for this, I knew about that view, but I thought it always use Apple Maps, rather than Waze, like I usually do, but I was wrong!CarPlay can be similar-ish if you’re using the dashboard view. Then you can quickly get into either your maps app or your now playing by tapping into them, and they’ll take up the whole screen.
