I was not able to complete a contract on an SX inside of March and now i'm looking at worse incentives. Last month had a 2.25% 60 month with credit of $750, or a 1.9 for 66 month no credit.

This month, it appears Kia is only doing 2.55% for 60 or 2.75% for 72 months with no credit.

This thing is getting really expensive compared to a Pacifica Hybrid.

My sales person has informed me that i should still be able to get the 1.9 for 66, and that an SX should arrive late tomorrow. Key word = should.

Kia has sold 1,467 Carnivals in March vs 573 in Feb. Who knows how many more would have sold if they had shown up to the lots.

What is the source of your data for numbers sold? Impressive Feb number given they didn't show up until March. :)

Well, is that sold to customers, or sold to dealerships. I feel automotive sales are reported as the latter. Either way, it'll be a good seller compared to the Sedona, because 1) it's a much better product, 2) more visually attractive, and 3) the KIA brand transformation has helped a lot, and reputation has improved greatly with products like the Telluride and Stinger.

One generation ago of KIAs I wouldn't have really considered, but since being owned by Hyundai, both brands have really improved.

I was able to sign and take delivery of a carnival SX at Medved Kia today. They were able to offer the same incentives as last month, so i was able to do 2.25% with $750 credit and the military $400. So, a fairly good deal considering the state of the market. Driving nearly 500 miles home was quite comfortable. I am pleased so far but still know very little about how everything works in this thing. It did great on downhill cruise control, shifting gears flawlessly to maintain speed down the “ike gauntlet” 7% grade. Pretty impressive. One tank higher speed 26 MPG was nice too.

Sounds like you got a decent deal...I had talked to Medved too and they seemed pretty straightforward. Haven't taken mine on any hills/mountains yet as I bought in Minnesota and drove it to Texas but no compliaints at all about the transmission or engine.

Tom at Medved Kia in Denver was great. I drove it straight back to Utah down the "Ike Gauntlet" as TFL calls it. It did very well with cruise control on the downhill. It seamlessly adjusted the gear to maintain speed on that 7% grade. Very impressive!

Did it apply the brakes when needed to maintain speed (without have to slow for a vehicle in front of it) or only used engine braking?

It only needed brakes if somebody in front of me was too close. If the lane was open it was able to control the speed by downshifting. It dropped 3 gears in some parts. Normally i would select a lower gear myself down such a grade but Kia had it automatically under control.
