I have an SX model and am wondering if the Carnival has the feature to auto-lock the doors when you walk away a certain distance from the vehicle (with all doors closed, and all passengers out)?

With our other car once you're just a few feet away from the vehicle with the key in your pocket/purse the vehicle locks. I know the Carnival has a smart key, but I've explored the settings menu extensively and haven't found such a feature. I did find the feature to auto-lock the door when you start your drive and you shift the vehicle out of Park, but nothing about when you leave the vehicle. With all the smart key features based on proximity, this seems like a very obvious feature to have...especially for a family vehicle.

I personally tried this. I walked away but the SX never locks. I always get a notification from the UVO app that the car is unlocked. If you have UVO, you can lock it from there.

Yeah there's the app (which we'll eventually have to pay for), but if I need to pull out my phone to lock the car, that's no different to pulling out my key to do it. I guess the easiest way to lock will be the door lock/unlock button.. But again, when you're carrying a handful of groceries or a baby it's an inconvenience.

It sure is. But with app you can close your car from another country. LOL

I don’t think the two things are related. Of course the app is nice for doing it remotely when you’re not near the car, that’s a given. However, walking away from the vehicle and having it automatically lock without taking the keys out or a phone would be ideal. If the app is already telling you that it’s unlocked why not just lock it for you based on the user preference?

I would love this feature in addition to automatically closing doors on lock or some kind of time out. I was in Little Rock over the weekend and accidentally left a side door open. I turned and walked away and pressed the lock button but didn't get a warning. Thankfully, someone saw it and honked at us as we turned the corner on our way into a restaurant.

The inside door buttons don’t actually work unless you’re in the car, I believe. There’s another thread complaining about it.
