Anyone know if this is a setting somewhere. I can't find it. My wife remote starts the car. But it shuts off after a minute or two. Anyone have ideas or quick fix? Thx
You can adjust the run time using the Kia Connect app on your smartphone. The longest duration is 10 minutes and is also the default setting. Not sure why yours is so short unless the dealer did it for some reason.

Mine has the same issue. It appears when I start it with the app, it works as expected. But when I start it with the fob, it shuts off before the 10 minutes. I'm assuming yours does the same. I'm in the middle of troubling shooting, but two ideas so far:

1. Car may shut off after the doors are opened. This would be dumb if true, but it seems like the car's runtime isn't consistent and seems to shut off pretty soon after I start loading it with kids.

2. May remain on until it reaches a prescribed cabin temperature. It's starting to get cold in my area, so this one should be easier to prove.

I don't have much faith that it's either of these ideas, but that's what I'm working with so far. Get at me if you or anyone else figures this out.

Regardless of how you start the car (fob or app) it will shut off within 30 seconds of a door being opened without the fob being detected inside the car. So if you are loading the kids with the fob in your pocket, then it will shut off. To avoid this, place the fob in driver's seat before you load the kids.

Brilliant - thanks for the intel; much appreciated!

Not to hijack the thread but maybe we should make a sticky for FAQs as this is a great example. If you want to take the lead, I'm happy to let you own it and make it a sticky.

That's not a bad idea. It would certainly be a great resource for new owners to reference. I'll see if I can whip something up to start and we can build on it over time.
