That sucks! Keep us updated once you know more.
How much did it end up costing to replace?Seems like a faulty battery or alternator. The worst we've experienced so far is a cracked windshield back in May which was near impossible to replace due to the vehicle being so new.
Interesting about the camera. Who recalibrated it in your case? Our insurance paid for it but without coverage it would have been around $1200 in part because the camera has to be recalibrated.
We used city auto glass which did a phenomenal job. They had the factory program to recalibrate the camera and we’re even able to do it with a mobile repair. Highly recommend them. Basically the camera doesn’t get moved around for calibration rather the ECU recalibrated based on what distances were from a bulls eye screen placed in front of the vehicle at a certain distance. It was pretty amazing to watch.Interesting about the camera. Who recalibrated it in your case?
Thanks for reporting back. Glad it wasn’t anything more serious than a battery.Hi guys,
So turns out that it was a bad battery overall and was replaced free of charge by the dealer.
Overall service could have been a bit better, but glad it was overall done.
Hope it doesn't happen to any of you!
Cheers,,,
I figured it would be about $1k for a replacement, so I went ahead and added zero deductible glass coverage to my insurance policy. My deductible is already set at $1k, so I didn't want to have to pay for that out of pocket when the inevitable rock hits my windshield. Our insurance paid for it but without coverage it would have been around $1200 in part because the camera has to be recalibrated.
Hi, I just had this happened to me yesterday. It was completely dead! I had to call Roadside Assist for a jump and it took them a good 10-12 minutes to juice up the battery again. It has been ok for now but will definitely take it to the dealership.Hello all,
New Carnival SX-P in Astra Blue w/ Off-Black Leather for about 2 months now, vehicle has ~2,000 miles.
Yesterday, around 5pm when attempting to start the vehicle in order to cool it down before taking our 18 month twins to swim lessons, the vehicle would not unlock or make any sign of life with the remote. So I had to manually open it and get inside and to my surprise the car was completely dead. I was able to get a quick jump, we checked in cased any lights were left on and all seemed okay, car ran completely normal the whole night after running a few errands which gave me the assumption that the battery was charged back up and should hold charge again, hopefully.
Today, again the vehicle was completely dead. We called Roadside assistance and it was towed to local dealer, hope to get an update soon.
Anyone experience anything similar ?
Hoping it's not anything major and can get fixed quickly.
Cheers,,,
Something must be draining the batteries when the car is off.Hi, I just had this happened to me yesterday. It was completely dead! Have them check the battery and the alternator. If it's the battery, you'll be the second person here with that issue and something the rest of us should be on the lookout for.Hi, I just had this happened to me yesterday. It was completely dead! Did the dealer figure out what the issue was?Glad this forum exists. I’m in Minnesota where it’s -8 today and our 2022 carnival is completely dead. Started with less than a quarter tank of gas in -25 degree weather two days ago! Now with a full tank of gas and much warmer the thing is an absolute brick and completely unresponsive. Roadside is on the way currently. This is the second issue we’ve had, first one was that the throttle actuator control motor took a shit. 🤦🏼♀️

We have an EX. After the battery replacement a month ago and it being completely dead about a week ago (brought it in, told nothing was wrong) it was dead again for the 3rd time yesterday. It’s at the dealership now and they called saying the battery is completely dead and it will be 4 days before it’s replaced and then they’ll have to do more testing. I’ll update once I hear back from the dealership again.Which trim do you have? SX/P?
