Delays?

Anyone recently get their carnival? Ours had a date of 4/27, then it was 4/24, now back to 4/27. Wondering if it’s likely to get pushed back more? If so, did yours get pushed back at the last minute? If so, how far out?
We are trying to time a 7 day quote from Carvana and carmax but give us enough time to have carvana pick up if needed prior to picking up the Carnival! We can’t go without 2 cars.
Any insight?

Use givemethevin dot com instead. Tell them your situation and they're SUPER flexible about letting you keep your car until the new one arrives. They understand the market right now and they know your 5 year old car's value isn't going to change significantly on day 7 vs day 10.

But yes, shipment dates for inbound inventory can fluctuate, especially after a holiday (in your case Easter).

We ordered our SX last August. August 2nd to be exact. Our delivery day was April 12th. We still do not have a updated delivery date. We are are the point that we will have to move on if we don’t get it soon. Any update on SX making its way into the country would be great.

You may have better luck getting on a dealer wait list for inbound inventory (no custom adders), rather then placing a factory order. Back in 2021, dealer wait lists were being quoted as 1-3 months long while factory orders were being quoted as 6-8 months.
I guess I am one of the lucky ones as I just received my SX yesterday! It is stock with ceramic silver/off-black syntex interior. So far extremely pleased. Process went like this - I preordered last year. In January, dealer told me they finally got some update from Kia and car should be here in a couple of months (late March or April). On March 1st, dealer reached out and shared an update that showed Delivery Detail Information for VIN: XXXXXXXXXX (there were numbers instead of Xs but not a real VIN) with Purification, Port Arrival, In Process, Tendered Not Shipped, Shipment Out, Dealer Arrival all showing estimated dates with estimated dealer arrival being April 28th. I got another email from them March 18th which showed the date slipped to May 3rd. On April 11th I got an email pushing it back another day and now finally giving me a real VIN and window sticker, but still only estimated dates with no actuals yet (first process of purification was estimated to happen on that day). I asked on April 19th for an update and it was pushed back another day to May 5th but the schedule now showed all actual dates (shipment out was 4/18) with exception of dealer arrival. Finally got an email from the dealer that the car was dropped off there on Friday April 29th, so it was only a day behind the original schedule. The dealer only had this table with the dates so had no actual visibility and up until the day it got dropped off they said could be a few days before or after. All in all it was worth the wait!

congrats👏!!! Hope you are continuing to enjoy it..
My Carnival's original ETA was March 31st. But since then it is in PA (port allocated) status. We move forward one day and the ETA moves forward two days. The status is still PA as of today. I reached out to Kia customer service as well they don't know what is going on with the car sitting at Port for 2 months now.

👎👎😪😪🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
I talked to a dealer yesterday who said the number of carnival deliveries to his dealership has dropped to nearly zero. It seems like Kia is focusing production on their SUV's - probably better margins.
Doesn’t really make sense because Tellurides are built south of Atlanta and Carnivals are built in Korea. I never worked in an auto manufacturing plant, but I doubt they shut down an assembly line to focus on a different model.
I don’t think I’ll ever get my Canadian SX at this rate…

Kia telluride or Hyundai palisade anyone???
This whole situation blows my mind. Obviously chip shortages and the virus have an affect on production, the factories in Korea alone were producing almost 2 million units per year per Wiki prepandemic. they have only sold just under 10,000 carnival units per Kia sales figures in the last two years since it was introduced. How in the hell can if be that that difficult to produce .25 of total production for one model in two years. I am a home builder and supply chain issues come into play every week, but we exceeded our forecast of 640 units by almost 150 houses. It’s crazy that hundreds if not thousands of people want this vehicle and can’t get it, and than on top of that have to pay over MSRP and wait 8-12 months with basically no ETA. I have to admit that I will be highly irritated if the Carnival doesn’t live up to the hype when I get mine next year.
