Extended Warranty

Has anyone sprung for a bumper-to-bumper extended warranty?

I've been thinking about it with all the electronics and tech on board in a first model year car.

I've been lurking the Telluride Forum and saw posts by Lucas and Craig from Kia of Muncie (they may be lurking here as well). They are offering a Kia-branded extended warranty through third-party Fidelity Warranty Services (JM&A). I reached out to them and got the following numbers ($0 deductible).

10 year or 100k miles is $1,647
8 year or 120k miles is $1,846
10 year or 150k miles is $2,763

Here is a link that will discuss the extended service contact that they offer.

So far I have not been able to find any Kia's manufacture extended warranty.

I was offered Assurant 10/100K with 100 deductible for 1800. Curious to see other third party offers.
I avoid 3rd party warranties like vegans avoid burgers. The price is usually attractive, but there always seems to be some additional hoops to jump through to get reimbursed for the claims.
I purchased a Power Protect warranty from the dealer. PowerProtect® - Overview
When I went to the website, it shows Hyundai Capital so I am thinking that Kia joined the Hyundai warranty program. The Kia contract was the same exact form as I received from my Hyundai HPP agreement. I paid less than $800 for the Platinum coverage with a $100 deductible for 10y/100k miles, though my rate was lower as I complained to the dealer subsequent to buying that the Finance Manager wasn’t forthcoming on the negotiations for the warranty. He originally quoted approximately $3,000.

150k miles 10 years $100 deductible $1900 )haven’t really tried to negotiate down yet but just by saying “that’s way too high - other people are paying less” he indicated that he will work with me I said I will get back to him...

a few suggestions:
Always negotiate the price down - you can walk away from the deal when you buy and usually have some time to accept

read the fine print:
Ours is a 12 pages of small print that says they can use any part remanufactured third party after market etc.

If you don’t follow all the terms in the fine print you might as well not get an extended warranty

Read the maintenance requirements: in our case in New England we will be forced to follow the accelerated maintenance schedule- which we have never done (after the car warranty expires) saving us al it of money).
