Saw a Flare Red SX today at the dealers. Not a whole lot of 'flare' to it. I was hoping in the metal it would have the sparkle and depth of a Mazda Soul Red, but unfortunately it's a darker, less exciting tone.

Really struggling to find a color that appeals to me with the Carnival SX and it's black wheels. Just gonna have to close my eyes and go eeny, meeny, miny, moe.

The silver trim around the rear window begs to be painted black to match the window posts.

The red is a pearlescent / mica paint. Not the same depth of soul red but definitely shows different color under different light - here is the close up.

Here's a couple of quick paparazzi-esque shots I took of an EX. Doesn't look as vibrant as your photos @I3536.

Now I already own one!
Drive is great! But you know, everything is relative :)
It’s much much better than the Chrysler. The Odyssey drive is better than the Carnival in many ways. I hope to post a detailed comparison in the next few weeks

Last week we stopped by the local dealership to check on a red SX. It was late afternoon so the sun was setting and wow that red does sparkle. We even wanted to buy it but somebody already had a deposit on it. Red is now my top color just need to see the Astra Blue in person before deciding. The only downside to the red color is it is not available with the Tuscan interior, which is the color I prefer. #Bummer

Thanks for the pictures @l3536 ! That sunset shot is exactly how the one we test drove looked. Very nice indeed.

Imo saddle brown would be the cozies interior but I've yet to see one with red. Hope you find the right one soon.

I saw a first carnival in the wild for the first time. It was an Astra blue driving by castle ridge trailhead in Pleasanton. I was standing in the parking lot and saw it for a split second.

What did you think of the blue?

I have the blue and like it. It’s a very interesting color. It looks different under different lighting. It can be a happy sharp blue, aqua blue/green, and some sort of a tamed grayish blue

That's exactly what I'm seeing in many of the natural light/outdoor videos of the color. Sometimes it's a beautiful blue, sometimes it's almost a middle grey (as in between a silver and charcoal), but in overcast and indoor setting it looks a bit too green. But it's definitely not boring!
What did you think of the blue?
Felt a bit "alien green" to me on an overcast day. Still beats the "seas of black white and gray". I'd consider a natural green as my top color followed by red, yellow, sky blue.

I had the "shut up and take my money!" mindset on the Deep Chroma Blue......and then KIA USA decided to only offer that color on their base model. Seems like these car companies are looking at their sales data and seeing folks just don't go for blue cars much. I'd love the red now, but the white parts of the interior seem like they'd be a magnet for dirt and scuff, especially with 3 little kids.

@I3536, I know it's early on, but how is your black and white interior faring? I think you said you even took a dog on your drive to Vegas, so how did that go for your interior?

If you really want, get the Mineral Blue in Canada :)
That’s another weird decision made in the US market. In CA the lower trims have 4 color options and higher trims 8. In the US all colors are available on LXS but not on higher trims.

My review of the interior
  • off black feels fine, more luxurious color yet less cozy but works well with all sorts of accessories (dog pad, chargers etc.)
  • there is not much white except the armrest and lower door
  • the table is great for kids eating in the car
  • hate perforated (fake) leather, if any diary spilled in the car it's disastrous. I've not allowed milk so far.
  • headliner is surprisingly resistant to smudges, saying this because a number of things have hit it when I expected to leave a mark but didn't
  • piano black does have issue with dust and finger prints, I keep a washcloth in the glove box

Does anyone have saddle brown interior they can share the photo of? Any opinion on people that saw both saddle brown and tuscan color in person?
