Hi all! Prospective Carnival owner here. We placed an order for a 2021 Pacifica back on November 28th (you read that correctly - over 6 months ago) and with no end in sight, we are now looking into the Carnival. These weren’t even on our radar when we decided on the Pacifica so I was excited to come across them recently. While I have been told that cosmetics are a silly reason to choose a car, switching to a minivan (or MPV) will be a hard transition for me and I want it to look at least a little “cool”. 😆 These seem to fit the bill for me! Looking forward to learning more about them and hopefully test driving one next week.

Well that was quick. We are now Carnival owners. We pick it up tomorrow morning and then go on a 3.5 hour drive. I guess we will learn as we go. :ROFLMAO:
Congrats! I was actually kind of in the same boat. I didn't want a Odyssey, because I"m coming from a '14 and they look too similar... aka, "ya'boring!" I found Sienna just over priced and under powered. So I had a deposit down to buy a '18 pacifica hybrid limited, but it would have to be shipped. Plus, it was about $36.5k with 26k miles. Plus fear of reliability. Then I saw a EX Carnival at local dealer fro 39k I figured what I'd get in safety features (and actual lane centering, not lane pingpong) and looks made up for what I'd miss from the Pacifica's high trim. Turned out it was being sold right then so I had to widen my net and ended up flying to pick one up out of state. I'm very satisfied with it! #noregrets

“Ya’boring” is 100% on the spot! I picked out a Pacifica with bright red seats so it wouldn’t look like every other one. The Carnival looks so much better IMO. We ended up picking one up a bit over MSRP (I know, I know…) less than an hour away from home in the color and trim we wanted and the drive from San Jose to Vegas was way better than it would have been in our Jeep. Definitely no regrets here!

Congratulations! How do you like it so far? I love mine!
I love it so far! It doesn’t drive nearly as “boaty” as the minivans we have rented before (Sienna and Pacifica), so I’m thrilled with that. Being able to have one parent in the back to reach both kids has definitely made long drives much more tolerable, so this was totally worth it!

That’s awesome. We just placed our order today on a SX here in Utah. Literally no idea when it’s going to show. What state are you in and when did they say it would be ready?

We didn’t order. A dealership about an hour away happened to have a SXP in the color we wanted. We went to check it out on Friday night (wanted to see how the VIP seats were and if the space would be ok or if we needed an 8 seater) and took it on Saturday. I’m in California.

Which dealership did you get yours from, and what was pricing like?
We went to San Leandro Kia. We ended up paying about $2k in markup. For us, being able to get it right then had some value as we were taking a road trip the next day and needed to be able to fit 5 people in the car (which we could not in our Jeep). After waiting 6 (now 7) months for our Pacifica which STILL has not been built, part of it was emotional exhaustion. We were just so done with the wait and bad/lack of info. I love our Carnival - it meets our needs just fine for now and looks way better than any other minivan. One day, I may prefer to have more cargo room/removable/stow n go seats, but we will deal with that when the day comes.

Yes I was about to buy a 22 hybrid Pacifica but I too strongly disliked the ping pong lane keep assist of the Pacifica… and yes the reliability also played its part and finally here in Canada I couldn’t justify $65k for it….
