Interior lights

I picked up my SXP and at night the interior lighting is so dim. Is there a setting I’m missing to brighten them up? I can barely see the console area.

We don’t have any issues with the light levels on the interior lights on our SXP. Took us a bit to find the button to turn them on though.

I have no issues with them being on- the light it gives off is just a lot less than I've seen in past vehicles. No ambient light either at night. Maybe something that is just missing.
It doesn't come with ambient light. I believe Kia sells one that can be installed later on.

How do you turn them on?

With the car turned off, you need to turn on the interior light button on the ceiling near to the UVO button. If you turn on the button while driving it'll just turn them on and keep them on. It's a bit odd of a user experience.

Maybe I'm thinking of something different. The dome/MAP lights can be set to either full on, off, or just on when the doors are open. On/off is one button but the door trigger is a separate button (overhead near the mirror). Is that what you're also saying?

I guess I was a bit confused. Here's the manual:

The machine light provides: high safety for the driver and others, as well as the comfort of travel. Undoubtedly, it is the external lighting of the vehicle that is very important, which allows you to make safe trips at night and in bad weather. However, interior lighting is also necessary, since it affects the comfort of making the same trips. Therefore, we recommend that you monitor the quality of both the external and internal lights of your vehicle. To purchase car lights, you should visit specialized services.
Thanks for the image guide, it was really helpful. Sometimes these settings are hidden in such a way, that even if you try and look all over, you still miss that one setting that you need. My car doesn't have too many lights though, so I added them by myself. Got these smart light strips from vont.com, now I can say now that my car has some amazing interior lights. It's so easy to adjust these colors and choose different modes, and no need to pay for a service to install them.
