I am trying to install the Kia OEM cross bars and have a question on installing.
Unfortunately Yakima who makes them can't provide support. My dealership never installed one - so they will be guessing the answer just like I am and Kia customer service is unhelpful too - they referred me to the dealership .
Anyone here installed the OEM crossbars and may be able to help with installation question?

So I figured out what I needed to do - not intuitive. Instructions or Kia customer service didn't help, but if anyone installs the OEM cross bars, I can try to explain better what to do with the set screws and how to adjust them.
After installing the passenger side, only using the clamp screw, the instructions say to release the set screw and "push to adjust" and it seems like you need to push the tower over the bar, and it does work one way but then it locks.

What you need to do after you release the set screw is to push in the set screw while sliding the tower over the bar. Only loosen the set screw a bit - just enough to be able to push it- don't unscrew it completely.
Hopefully, that would make sense to anyone trying to install the OEM bar.
I managed to install the cross bars and they are very sturdy and look great. The cross bars are made by Yakima and the bars themselves are identical to the Yakima Jet Stream bars and are high quality and quiet. The bars are about 3.5 inches over the roof.
The one question I still have for anyone who installed them - the instructions make it seem like the bar should be flush with the tower - slide all the way in, but it looks impossible to achieve.
Anyone trying to install them and running into problems - feel free to ask here or DM me.
