National Stop Sale Bulletin

Not sure I posted this in the correct forum originally...sorry for the duplicate.

I was scheduled to take delivery of a new Carnival today at a dealer in Michigan. Just received a call that KIA has placed a national stop sale order out and the dealer can't finish the transaction but the vehicle will still be held for me. The sales guy didn't know the reason why yet. No money has changed hands so no big deal...but sounds like possibly a safety issue as a national stop sale bulletin seems pretty drastic. Anyone know anything about this? I haven't been able to locate anything online.

I’m in the same boat as you, we were on our way to pick ours up from the dealer and received the same call. No other information was given and hope it’s not something major. I did find there was a recall issued for a couple other KIA vehicles this morning so I’m not sure if it is related to the Carnival or not.

If I learn anything I will post it to this thread. Good luck.

Strange, nothing on web about this, just called my dealer and they know nothing about this and in fact sold a 2022 Carnival yesterday and there is nothing on my Kia Access app concerning my 2022 EX.
It must have been today because we just purchased our Carnival last night. We are reaching out to our dealer to try and get more details.
I guess the question is, is this just for Carnival's, or all new KIA models since we saw the recall announcement yesterday on the Seltos and Soul.

Still waiting....my understanding is the recall announced yesterday was related to the smaller 2.0 L engine...not the engine in the Carnival.

Our dealer just informed us it impacts our SX-P but they didn't have the details on what the issue is. Perhaps I should pack a fire extinguisher in the car.
:rolleyes:Well, the Carnival is considered a "hot car"........especially the SXP.
On the facebook carnival page someone posted that the issue has to do with the fuel injectors. Rumor / conjecture at this point but if that is indeed the issue, you could find yourself stranded if you have a problem.
Oh well, there are worse places to be stranded than Florida...unless it's Hurricane Season.
According to our dealer it is indeed the fuel injector. Good news is that it it only effects certain VINs. Bad news (for us) is our was included. Kia corporate is clueless about the stop order. If you call them they will deny it. Dealers are having a hard time getting any details much less what needs to happen to fix the car. Some owners are complaining of a gas smell in the cabin during idle which could be a factor.

thanks for the info....guess will wait to see if my vehicle is part of the VIN pool...
Are the dealers prohibited from selling the Carnivals on the lot or ones in transit at the moment or just ones that are affected?
From what I've heard, the national stop sale was short lived and now only affected vehicles are prohibited for sale until they have had their fuel rail replaced.
