Radio app on infotainment no longer working

I have a 2023 Kia SXP and updated my Gen5W Navigation Software with the newest version about a month ago. Everything was working fine until a few days ago and now the physical "Radio" or onscreen radio button does not work and I have no way of seeing the screen that used to show me my XM, FM, and AM interface. I can hear audio but am unable to change the channel.

When I click on the radio button or click on media and select XM, FM, or AM the split screen keeps blinking as if it's trying to load the radio but keeps crashin. It keeps doing this until I turn the radio off. The audio still works during this as well.

On the home page it constantly says "Preparing Sirius XM Radio" but never gets past that point. Everything else works fine. I have refreshed my XM signal, re-installed the software update, and completed a soft reset of the system with a paper clip and by using the Reset function in Settings to set it back to factory defaults. None of these steps have solved the problem.

I am on a road trip for the month of February and am unable to go to my dealer. I tried contacting other dealers and they can't see me for over a month.

I've read about doing a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. I have not tried this yet in hopes of not having to reconnect everything as well as not knowing if this will cause other problems or what data I will lose. Does anyone know about performing a hard reset and what steps I'd need to take that the dealer did when I purchased my van? Any other tips?

Did you check to make sure you downloaded the correct firmware? There are sometimes different versions for 22 vs 23 year models.

Thanks for the tip. I did.

Everything has been working fine for the past two months.
Can you call Kia America?

I’ve had A couple Hyundai, was on the Hyundai think tank for awhile, just try calling, very helpful to me.

Thanks for the tip. I called but they were useless. But I emailed them and got a decent response. I'm gonna do a hard reset by unplugging the positive battery terminal for 4 hours as they suggested. Fingers crossed.
Sorry I don't have any answer for you but what reset with a paper clip are you talking about.

On the lower right area of the large screen is a tiny hole. You put a paper clip in there and it will reload/reset the system. Helps of everything gets locked up .

Thanks I'll remember this for the future. I've never noticed that reset button

Update. There is a new update for the Kia October 2022 Navigation Map and Software update. I updated in December. Even thought the name is the same, the version number is different. You can see the current software version at Kia Navigation Map Update > Notifications

Probably not. Please read my last post. Basically, you need to do a system update. Your dealer should have, but it sounds like they didn't.
