2.5 hours for me. I made sure my gas tank was fullThe update is finally available again. I am not sure if people who updated several weeks ago need to update again because I think they patched some bugs. HOWEVER, how long does it take to install this update? I have been sitting in my van for over an hour and it is still not finished!!! This is ridiculous. How long did it take everyone else to install the update?
You didn't need to run the engine for this update to work. I think it's just a precaution against potential battery drain.2.5 hours for me. I made sure my gas tank was full
I thought it was disappointing at first too, but seeing each of the past 2 updates has been 30+ GB, that would be a big ask to download OTA.The fact that this brand-new for 2022 model year vehicle doesn’t have wireless OTA updates is a little ridiculous.
Not that I know of. Maybe you can install an old version, but it will most likely fail. I too miss the nicer looking retro tube UI. The current version looks dated and kinda messy with the various radio station artworks clashing with each other and the UI.Did the last update change the Radio design layout? I think the dealership made the updates and now i don't see that fancy radio screen that looked like https://cdn.jdpower.com/ChromeImageGallery/Expanded/White/640/2022KIV02_640/2022KIV020106_640_18.jpg
is there a way to get that design back?
The best I can figure out is if you’re set up for OTA updates, it will download those at its own leisure (these are very large updates being downloaded over the cell network). But they won’t necessarily be timely… I’ve seen people with Sportages and EV6es with OTA update capability just getting the April 2022 update within the last month. So really, OTA updates are primarily for people who otherwise wouldn’t have even realized an update existed.Just got my SXP and it says OTA Update Available but when I click Update it says insert USB drive? Do I need to insert a USB drive for it to download OTA to? I couldn't really find any info on kia owners around this?
You go to update.kia.com to get the navigation updater program for your PC or Mac. That facilitates the file download and transfer to your USB stick. What is the URL to download the software update from?
Just had this happen to me. But my thumb drive only has the 16 files... Guess I will try again...?After going through the whole process again- I ended up with 16 files and the update seems to be functioning normally. So strange. Thank you for the help!
Yes, USB - a big enough drive should cost you like 10 bucks. So my USB drive is only 32gb. When I tried to transfer the files from my PC, it says I need a bigger USB stick. Well I saw that you can download it on an SD card. I have many that are 128gb. So if I download it to that, where can I stick into the Carnival? It doesn' thave an SD slot. I'm confused. USB or SD Card? If USB only, then I simply need to buy a bigger USB Drive.
If you want your Android Auto to utilize the entire screen, you need to go to setup > device connections > phone projection > Android Auto. Uncheck “use split screen.”Did the download and install. Once restarted, it looks the same. Google maps is not taking up the whole screen. Tried messing with different settings but nothing. View attachment 1135
This worked for me. Also in your Android Auto Phone App, In Developer Settings if you have enabled this in the past. Change the Video Resolution to "Allow Car and phone to Negotiate"If you want your Android Auto to utilize the entire screen, you need to go to setup > device connections > phone projection > Android Auto. Uncheck “use split screen.”
