Southern Ontario wait time info

Hi, I thought this information might be helpful for other buyers. I ordered an LX+ in mid September. The dealer contacted me recently and said I should be able to pick up the vehicle by the middle to end of February. They claim a VIN has been allocated to me but the vehicle was still on a ship and not yet landed. I was under the impression that VIN's weren't issued until the vehicle was officially in Canada. I'll update when I actually pick up the vehicle.

I ordered a Thunder Grey EX+ in mid Aug 2021 and hence it's now hiting 1 year since I've been waiting. However, I gave up waiting and needed something urgently hence no longer need it. Should I just cancel my order and get my deposit back, or can I transfer the deposit to a friend once it comes in?

The dealer will likely still get the car and be able to sell it at a premium given the demand but if my friend wants it he can benefit from my wait and get the van much sooner. Any suggestions?

Hi also ordered in end of August 2021 pearl white Ex + got my car delivered last month 9th July. So I guess your car should be coming soon

Ordered a Silver SX July 29, 2021 from GTA area. Still no VIN or update. Once a month I get a no update email from the dealership.
Ordered in Jan 2022, just got notice that mine is coming in mid-Jan 2023 and that a VIN is assigned.

The Mississauga dealership is the worst! I understand if they have no updates but atleast dont be rude about it. I pray for the day when the tables are turned and they have a 100 cars in their lots but no customers.

The manager couldn't find my order in the software. And then when I get a little frustrated he suddenly 'found it' claiming it was human error and he put 2023 for search criteria...

I am really unhappy with the whole experience.

I booked around March 25, 2022, SX and the gray variant. Not sure if it is the combination of my order or the laxity of the dealership (hint hint : the latter) but I am super frustrated. Nobody replies to emails, answers calls or has the courtesy to call back! Right now the dealership is king since supplies are low are customers are more but wait till a few months and these people will have a hundred cars in their lots and no customers!!!
I ordered my EX+ Thundergray back in Nov 2021 and picked up in Dec 2022. I noticed LX and LX+ timelines are much shorter.

UPDATE: I called the mississauga kia and they confirmed that there is a VIN and should receive in March
Anyone know what the wait times in GTA are for new orders? We're looking to put in an order for an EX+.
Also, did the dealers try to tack on fees, or did you all buy for MSRP?

The wait time I believe is around 18 months for EX+ now.
I bought from Mississauga kia and they tried to charge me a mandatory care package for 1k approx.. I pushed back and they removed.
Damn 18 months!!?
I thought supply issues were getting better, not worse!
Ordered our EX+ in February 2022 at Oakville Kia and were told at the time an October delivery, then were informed two months later January 2023. Followed up at the end up November thinking it has to be on the ship by now to make January delivery and was told it would be April. Called two weeks and ago was told May. The sales person has been responsive but the dealership was obviously not being honest at the time around the delivery lead times KIA had been providing. Complaining directly to KIA Canada they just give you the same excuse about supply chain issues and that inquiries should be go directly to the dealer instead of being honest where in the queue your order stands at the factory. I've asked my dealer why they are not able to insist on more transparency from KIA Canada a more accurate delivery date at this point after already waiting a year. Tell me where my order is within the queue at the factory.

For those of you who have received your new vans did the dealer make you pay more than the MSRP?

New to the forum, wife and I purchased a 2022/2023? Carnival EX+ in Ghost Grey. Southern Ontario. Dealership told us it could be anywhere between 10-14 months, but doubtful it would be less than a year with the chip issues. Time will tell I guess.
