How do you guys do it if you have child’s seats installed in the 2nd row captains chairs. I know it’s impossible with a rear facing seat in the 2nd row but are you guys just squeezing between the captains chairs or are you sliding the captains chair forward and squeezing in behind?

We have one child rear facing seat that is in the outer most position and then to the rear most position on the passenger side. We do the same for the other seat on the driver's side. When in the outer most positions they will not go as far back as when they are in the center position. That configuration leaves plenty of room in the rear and enough room for adults and kids. We just go through the middle access row. I imagine with two rear facing car seats, this can get quite a bit more challenging.

Kinda sucks that the SX-P trim wasn't really designed for a young family {of 5 or more) with 2 child seat in the VIP chairs plus a 3rd child in mind. The seats are unwiedy, clumsy and inflexible. More suited for a family of 4 or for ferrying the parents-in-law in style and comfort.

This has been my thought as well. It's a very cool package to offer, but I assume most minivan shoppers are thinking about car seats and strollers, and not luxurious captains chairs.

To the OP, I know it's too late now, but I always recommend taking your car seats to the dealership and testing them in the vehicle before you sign on the dotted line. As mentioned before, the middle isle is your easiest access path, but it's certainly not going to be easy. If you have a car seat that is also a carrier, have the passengers enter the vehicle from that side BEFORE you drop the carrier into the base. That might make it a little better for them.

KIA needs to offer the prestige with non lounge seats
My guess is that once you see the supply demand curve invert from what it is today, that many of these customer feedback items will be addressed. Unfortunately, right now, there isn't much an incentive to make any changes to the lineup. The thing I miss the most is the trick "dial selector" gearbox with paddle shifters available in the KDM models. As a passenger, I do like the VIP seats though. :)

This is a choice made by Kia AMERICA. The American office made the decision on these trim levels. The EX+ is a nice option in Canada with full digital dash and the blind spot camera and without the captain’s chairs. I wish it were available in the USA. Really the SX Prestige should come without the captain’s chairs as I suspect that would be wildly popular and far more popular than the version with the captains chairs. It’s not often that I need to transport 5 people. But sometimes I want to transport my very long Larry vs Harry Bullitt dutch style cargo bike inside the minivan.

I'm sooo jealous Canada has the Ex+! I definitely wish they would of given us that option here in America.
