Thanks to everyone for being a great source of information while I was on the hunt for a Carnival. I'm taking delivery tomorrow afternoon and I'm looking forward to owning a reliable family hauler.

Congrats! What trim did you go with? How long did it take and did you get it at MSRP?

I went with the LXS trim since the EX is impossible to find and I can install the power lift gate after I take delivery. Unfortunately I paid the markup and I got lucky in finding a Carnival that was in route to the dealership when I called last week to inquire.

Is this possible? If so, please share details of where you read that. I’d be interested in adding that to my LX if it wasn’t too cost prohibitive.

I spoke to two different dealerships and they recommended buying the LXS and then adding the power lift gate later to deal with the EX shortage. They mentioned that a lift gate kit would be made available later this year and installation would be around $1,400... Let's hope this is factual information being presented by the dealerships.

Yeah, I also wonder if that’s true. My LX remote doesn’t have a lift gate button, so I’d probably either have to get an additional remote or replace the existing ones in order to add this function.

I'm at the dealership right now taking delivery and you're correct that the remote has to be switched out to include the remote lift gate option after installation.

Is the remote included in the price? I was quoted $1200 to add it in PA, but I didn’t even think to ask about the remote.
I was told that the lift gate kit is in the works for later this year. Therefore, I took delivery without the kit and will add it once it's available.
Curious what was the markup?

A very painful $5k over MSRP. I found a Carnival a week before I purchased this one and the markup was $10k over MSRP. It isn't pleasant to be stuck in this scenario, but the supply chain issues and our immediate need for a reliable minivan left us little choice. I hope you find one at MSRP!

I ordered for about the same few days ago. The issue is all MSRP's have gone up. For example Sienna XLE MSRP is 40k, same as Carnival LXS with markup. For me I need leather (even fake is ok) because my kids will destroy cloth. Odyssey EXL is also 40K. Sienna will also probably have a markup right now. Personally I also had a trade in with low miles and I needed to cash the equity on that car.
