So the Carnival we ordered was supposed to have the mirror with built in Home Link, but we were told it was not available from the factory (despite me seeing the part for sale at multiple places online)...

So I'm a little disappointed that the rear view mirror is from 1990 with manual flipping for dimming capabilities.

My question is has anyone attempted to replace this basic mirror with the home-link auto-dimming one? Obviously it would need a power source so I'm not sure if it as easy swap. Also, our Carnival is technically a 2023, but the replacement mirrors for sale only say they're for 2022. Surely they can't be too different, right?

I didn't want to pay $350 just to have a garage door remote, so I got the Chamberlain version of this mirror:

Brandmotion 1110-2521 Frameless Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror with Universal Remote Control ARQ https://a.co/d/75VGmx0

This is not the unit I purchased, because the Chamberlain version appears to be out of stock, but there's at least gets you close for a fraction of the price. Took 5 minutes to install.
