I'm sure there is something I'm missing. But somethign changed recently and now when we try to use the voice prompt on UVO to call through the van. It constantly says it's downloading contacts and to try later. How do you fix this? Thanks 👍

No one else is having this issue with their 2022-2023 Kia Carnival. Interesting.
I guess you should feel special 🤪

Actually though, I think the question should be, "does anyone use the voice commands?" I bet 90% of people never use it. I use the Google assistant instead of the one built into the van. It is not a solution to your issue but you could try that (or Siri if you are an Apple person). I did learn when I am running Android Auto, if I hold down the voice button on the steering wheel Google Assistant responds, instead of the built-in one.

I tried deleting both phones and no luck. Same message pops up. This is frustrating as you can't call hands free. You have to dial the number up on your phone manually first. Hopefully I'll be able to figure something out.

Possible that Phone permissions (Android Auto in my Case) for Contacts is not given. This happened in my CRV. Though it let me call, but would never download my contacts and stuck in the loop where it was not an issue for my wife with iphone. Later i saw that the permission for Android auto to use my contacts is not given. Once this was given it resolved my issue in CRV. Hope that helps.

@Smoothride thanks. In this case we're not using Android Auto, just the normal interface on the Carnival. Also, my phone I use Android Auto on my truck and no issues.
