Just got my Kia Carnival a month ago, and happened to notice new paint scratches on fender right behind the front left wheel. Any idea what could have caused it? If anyone else out there has had same experience, could this be a paint defect?

Could be anything... most likely you ran over some road debris that kicked up and scratched the paint.

Oh well, off to the dealer for touch-up paint. Apparently parking in the back of the lot wasn't enough to prevent the inevitable :-(

probably from turning and hitting the curb, always countersteer prior to turning for wider turning radius to prevent curb rash
