Wind noise/air leaks

Any other owners experience an air leak noise around the drivers door or window? I have an EX and I'm really enjoying it but it's pretty loud driving over about 50mph. Would be curious to hear experiences from other owners.

The only air noise I heard is if I recline in the passenger seat, I can hear some air (not loud at all) from the passenger sliding door. The driver door is very quiet and in general the entire car

I had a Home link mirror install installed by the dealer. I just went out and inspect both seals on the door and on the jamb. It looked like the seal wasn't quite reseated correctly in about the spot where I feel like the noise was centered. We'll see if that takes care of it.
Yes, I almost posted about it but you beat me to it.

I have an EX and also notice the wind noise when I get to 50 and it just gets louder from there. It's on both front doors/windows so I'm not sure if it's normal or not.

I was thinking of taking it back in next week to be checked.

Keep us posted if you wind up taking it in

I thought I watched a review that stated that sound/noise deadening glass is used on SX and SX-P for front side windows. Not on lower trims. Could that be part of it?
No noise in my SXP. Now, I am more than half deaf, but my wife has good hearing and she states nice and quiet. We just took a 200 mile trip yesterday.

I'm scheduled to go in next monday, I'll be sure to report back.

Can you give us some info on the home link mirror? How much did it cost and how are you liking it?
We have the home link mirror on our SX-P and it works great. It was a bit challenging getting it setup since none of our original openers work but if you follow the instructions, it’s not too hard to get it setup.
I too, like the Homelink mirror. I had one on my 2016 Subaru Forester (traded for the SXP) and could not imagine not having one on the Carnival. That said, I lusted after the Digital Rear View Mirror on the Sienna. The best thing about the Sienna, hands down.
Took it in today and was told it's just a windy day, when I mentioned it's always that way they then said it's just the way it is and nothing can be done.

I would like to hear from other EX owners if they have this issue.

I also noticed vibration in the car when going over 50. They scanned the car and confirmed it needs an alignment but they don't have the specs yet since it's so new. SMH

Am experiencing the same. The kept it for 2 weeks and had field engineer out. Now they are telling me the wind noise coming from the driver side is normal. This is so frustrating. I don’t know if they the bs’ing me. I hear wind noise at 60 mph and it’s only coming from the driver side door/window.

That's a long time for them to try to fix it. At least they tried.

How smooth is your car when going over 50? Do you feel the car shake at all?
It does not shake under 70. Just lot of road noise and wind noise coming from the driver side. Car only has 1200 miles on it. Just a bad product and Kia has no fix for it. But this is my first and last Kia product.

Road and wind noises are some of the cons some auto reviewers pointed out for the Kia Carnival, possibly a cost-cutting measure. Kinda a bit surprising since the windshield and front windows are supposed to be acoustic laminated. Something that should be included in a road test drive, for sure.

Same on my EX when I hit 60
So strange that primarily EX owners are affected by this. I know the SX trims have the extra lamination, but even the LX trims don't seem to have this same issue. They're essentially the same vehicle, so why the difference?

I test drove an LX today and it was definitely there when I hit 50. Wind from the driver's side door. I opened and closed the door again on the highway. Still there. Frustrating b/c I liked everything else about the vehicle, but that would be really annoying on a 500 mile trip.

Hi there, I have an LX plus, I’m experiencing the upper driver wind noise as well. The dealership replaced the door seal (under warranty) then I drove just a few kms from dealership and still heard it. Anything over 70km/hr. I called the dealership back, they wanted me to go back, but My take on it is there is a design, engineering, or production flaw with it. So I requested the dealership to document it, and contact Kia to see if there is any tech service bulletins , I’m not going to keep going back and forth to the dealership to keep chasing this. It’s not the dealers fault or the technicians. So hopefully Kia gets enough complaints and figures a fix. The vehicle is fantastic, but this particular kind of wind noise should be unacceptable in this type of refined family vehicle IMHO .
