I test drove an LX today and it was definitely there when I hit 50. Wind from the driver's side door. I opened and closed the door again on the highway. Still there. Frustrating b/c I liked everything else about the vehicle, but that would be really annoying on a 500 mile trip.
I have the lxs model and it's has had the qind noise from the get go. No matter what speed I go. I thought I was hearing things. But I guess I'm not alone on this. I have 5000 miles on mine now will contact dealership bout it and have it documented

Hi there, I have an LX plus, I’m experiencing the upper driver wind noise as well. The dealership replaced the door seal (under warranty) then I drove just a few kms from dealership and still heard it. Anything over 70km/hr. I called the dealership back, they wanted me to go back, but My take on it is there is a design, engineering, or production flaw with it. So I requested the dealership to document it, and contact Kia to see if there is any tech service bulletins , I’m not going to keep going back and forth to the dealership to keep chasing this. It’s not the dealers fault or the technicians. So hopefully Kia gets enough complaints and figures a fix. The vehicle is fantastic, but this particular kind of wind noise should be unacceptable in this type of refined family vehicle IMHO .
One of the things you could try is put some washable ink or chalk on the seal to see if it makes contact all the way around. I get the feeling though that it may be from the window glass seals. Have you tried pushing on the glass slightly at speed to see if it gets worse/better? Those are really the only two places wind noise could be entering that I know of.

I posted about my experience in another wind noise thread and posting here too. I bought an EX just before Thanksgiving and I do not hear any major wind noise at 70+ or any other speeds. There is a bit of noise but not so much to bother me. I can hear music and hear my kids in the 2nd row. I am used to the same or maybe even more wind noise in a Mazda6.

I have a LXS and can confirm wind noise too from the driver side window. It’s been an issue since day one and occurs at any speed above 45 MPH and is very audible during highway driving. It seems to be coming from the window seal in the top back corner of the driver’s window. While driving, I can push up on the window seal in that corner and the wind sound goes away. Will definitely be taking it back to be serviced.

2022 LXS has had nothing but unnaturally, loud wind noise penetration on upper right side of driver window. Attempts to blame side view mirror housing light unsuccessful with replacement. This car has serious issues at 3000 miles with no solution. Anyone have any luck isolating the cause?

We have experienced unnatural wind noise from the driver and passenger side windows. It's subtle but enough to stand out and make the ride (anything over 45mph) less enjoyable. To summarize the noise, it sounds as if the window is slightly cracked. It is not. Have over 3000 miles on our new Carnival. We love the car but the wind noise is something I've never experienced in any other vehicle I've owned or driven. Definitely affects the enjoyment of the ride. Unfortunate for such a, seemingly, quality car like the Carnival. Hope Kia comes up with a solution at some point.

The more tech line cases opened regarding this issue, the more KIA will recognize this as legitimate issue and come up with a warranty solution. I've already attempted to unsuccessfully have this problem addressed and don't think they even replaced any parts after holding the car for 2 full weeks. Seems like there is a culture of penalization (ie. Who ultimately pays for a repair: Corporate vs dealership/mechanic) which creates a culture, on a dealership level, adverse to attempting even basic solutions (ie. New gaskets, new side view mirrors, door re-alignement) for fear of having to "eat" the costs of the work done and parts.

Just got our carnival yesterday. Also an LXS, and I’m having an identical noise that also goes away when that area of the seal is pushed upwards.

Any other owners experience an air leak noise around the drivers door or window? I have an EX and I'm really enjoying it but it's pretty loud driving over about 50mph. Would be curious to hear experiences from other owners.
Noise very loud for me as well both front windows are noisy but don’t feel leaking. Very annoying and bad on long drives.

Hello!

I have the same problem with my KIa Carnival LX+ 2022, when I went on a road test with the assistent sales manager at KIA Val Bélair here in Québec Canada, he told me he could hear very well the front door leaking air as we were driving past 100km/H (60 Mp/H) and that I was to make an appointment with the service department and so I did. Knowing I would need it later I ask to have a Hitch installed at the same time. My appointment came 3 weeks later and when my hitch was installed I asked about my both front door leaking and what parts were ordered to fix the problem. the answer was that no parts were ordered and that it was a normal situation and that they would not do anything about it. This is my first and last KIA. very good gas mileage on that Carnival, on cruise at 100 km you can it 1000km on one tank if alone and empty. but with such poor warrenty coverage and none respect of their on line prices, I will file a complaint with the office for the consumer protection and with fixe mi front doors myself. I will pup off the seals and add about 1mm of RTV silicone to both front door seals and let dry and after will put snap them back in place. they are just not thick enough to do the job. You don't need and engeneer to figure that one out. I reach about 80 decibel at 120km/h on highway which is not acceptable for a 45k new vehicle.
