Arapahoe KIA called me last week and informed me that my car is arrived already. They told me it could takes 21 days to process the paperwork.I haven’t gotten anything yet and they didn’t say anything about the transport. They quoted me $1400 last time and I could use my own transport if my transport come first but I still have to pay $1400 and they will give me a refund if my own transport come first. But if their transport come first, I will have to use theirs and I don’t know if I cancel my own transport at that time. Arapahoe KIA will charge $700 on top of MSRP for their Standard dealer handling fee. I think CO has this law.

Also, if you are planning to financing, they don’t allow outside financing.

Yea, they told it would take up to 21 days for a notary service or whatever to complete the paperwork. But I almost feel like thats super exaggerated. I've bought a Lexus from Colorado before, and the notary service to sign paperwork took like 2 days. The notary overnight the paperwork to them. I told them I'm planning on financing through my credit union. The credit union is going to cut them a cashier check for the purchase. They haven't told me I couldn't so far, so who knows. I must say, email communication with them has been very slow and inconsistent which is so annoying.

I guess I spoke to soon, they just emailed me and asked to clarify if the cashiers check from my credit union will be backed by a loan or a lien. So most likely theyre going to not allow me to finance with my credit union. My credit union is School's First. I will just refinance if anything. Just so annoying how theyre being right now with everything.

Yup, they know they have leverage and us by the balls. Literally could demand anything and we would just have to follow through because we don't want to lose out on the car.

Did you order at Arapahoe KIA? I think I got 7 seaters as well even though I did request to change it to 8 seats. At this point, I’ll just take whatever available since I don’t know how long does it take to wait for the 8 seats.

I’m on east coast, I ordered from a dealer in Staunton Va that was selling everything at MSRP.

Hey bud, did you ever receive your car? Mine was estimated to arrive on Aug 19, but it looks like it didn't and I'm not getting any updates from the dealer.

Yea I got an SX. They said the car arrived into Colorado but it hasn't been delivered to the dealership yet. This is moving so damn slow.

Yes, they included a temporary Colorado plate in the glovebox that I attached to the back once I received it.

The white one thats listed for $44,430 on their website is mine but it's not at the dealership yet from what they say.

Got the call, they got the car at the dealership. Gonna start the paperwork process. Did you refinance your loan yet? They quoted me over 6% for 72months. Crazyyy.

They collected the estimated sales tax and then sent the tax check along with the other paperwork via FedEx to our local DMV (tell Arapahoe which DMV location you want to use). Arapahoe has a title department that will process it about a week after you take ownership of the car. Make sure you ask them for the tracking number so you’ll know when your DMV receives it (having the tracking number also helps if the DMV claims they can’t find it).

Once it arrived at our DMV, I went there to complete the registration process, pay the registration fee, and have the car inspected (a California requirement for out of state vehicles).

FYI, even though your car is new, you’ll also need to get it smogged and bring the smog certificate. I found a deal on Groupon for my local smog shop and got it done for $35 + $8 certificate fee.

After we paid the registration, had the inspection, and filed all the paperwork, the DMV rep gave us our new plates and registration on the spot.

Arapahoe KIA told me the shipping company picked up my car but no one has communicated with me when the car will arrive. Did the shipping company or Arapahoe KIA tell you when the car would be delivered? Thank you

When you did your financing paperwork with Arapahoe, was there any stipulations regarding the loan? Like are you required to keep the loan for a certain amount of time, or is there an early payoff fine? The 6% interest rate is absolutely ridiculous and I want to refinance it with my credit union as soon as I get the car in hand.

I had a very high interest rate as well. It’s 6.5% and my credit score is above 800. There’s no requirement to keep the loan for certain period of time. I told the finance department that I will refinance right away since the interest rate is pretty high. I’ll refinance with my credit union as soon as I completed the registration in CA.

At least they process your finances pretty quick. I have to wait for a week before they started the process.
